From Seraphina to Fin: Ben Affleck’s Daughter Shares Powerful Coming Out Story

Seraphina Rose, the 15-year-old daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, just came out as transgender. At the memorial service for Jennifer’s father, William John Garner, which was held at a church in West Virginia, they made their public debuts under the new name, Fin. “Hello, my name is Fin Affleck,” Fin said as they presented themselves at the monument, sporting a buzz cut and a black tuxedo.

Seraphina made her first appearance in public under her new identity this year when she unveiled her new hairstyle. Three children, Violet Anne Affleck, 19, Seraphina,15, and 12-year-old Samuel Garner Affleck, are shared by Ben and Jennifer. They went through a divorce in 2015, yet they’re still determined to co-parent. Ben married actress-singer Jennifer Lopez in 2022.

William John Garner, Jennifer’s father, died on April 2 at the age of 85. Despite the inevitable sadness she was going through, Jennifer expressed appreciation in her heart as she posted about his passing on Instagram. William was a Union Carbide chemical engineer who passed away over the Easter holiday.”My dad departed on Saturday afternoon in a calm manner. As he departed, we were singing Amazing Grace with him. Even though the death of an 85-year-old man who had a long, robust life is not tragic, I am aware that grief is inevitable and can strike at any time. I’m grateful for today,” Jennifer wrote. The 51-year-old star thanked her dad for being a patient “girl dad,” his lighthearted humor, and his kind disposition. For the way he developed the persona of the all-in, eternally patient girl dad and for the way he taunted with a wicked smile. We appreciate his leadership, work ethic, and faith,” she continued.
